Graduation

Today we had our very last appointment with the IVF clinic. The doctor and staff are so wonderful. We’ll really miss seeing their smiling, friendly faces. The doctor did one last ultrasound, and he too confirmed that we lost Baby B. Baby A is thriving and has a great heartbeat, while Baby B is already starting to get reabsorbed. The hematoma is still there, but the doctor said it’s small. He seemed very optimistic about things, which makes us happy.

I’ve been having a hard time getting attached to the babies because of all the bleeding, and then after losing one of them it was even harder. Every day I worry about losing the other baby, which makes it hard to be happy. Don’t get me wrong, I am so beyond thankful to be pregnant, it’s just hard not to worry. After the appointment today, I feel much better.

Two of my blood tests came back with concern. One is my TSH, which was drastically low at 0.03. That is considered hyperthyroidism, and the doctor said that is common in pregnancy, but they will retake the test in a month to monitor. The other test was the glucose tolerance test. It came back at the highest it could be, within the normal range. At this early in the pregnancy, the doctor it means I’m more likely to have gestational diabetes. We do not want that! I must watch my sugar intake and processed food consumption. Must stay as healthy as possible for my little chicken.
